Wedding Photography Tips & Checklist
1.  ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME in your big day for all of the formal photos, i.e. the bride, the groom, the bride & groom together; the wedding party; and various family & group shots. People tend to be very surprised at how long it actually takes to organize excited, emotional people.

2.  BE PREPARED by filling out the 'Wedding Photography Checklist' form at the bottom of this page (highlight it, then 'print selection') so that both you & your photographers know how to plan time for the photos you want.

3.  HELP US HELP YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT.  Please assign a relative or member of the wedding party to help us identify people of whom it is particularly important to get a shot (as listed on your Photography Checklist--"which one is Aunt Martha?")

4.  Consider NOT adhering to the old-fashioned custom of not seeing each other in your wedding garb prior to the ceremony.  Getting your formal shots done prior to the guests' arrival will result in better use of your photographers' time (for which, after all, you are paying); an unhurried, less-tense atmosphere (resulting in better pictures); and a greater number of shots to choose from.  AND, it eliminates wedding guests' NUMBER ONE PET-PEEVE:  standing around after the
ceremony for up to an hour, waiting for photos to be taken.  You can't buy them off by passing a tray of hors d'oevres--people hate to wait.

5.  PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.  The people who will be in your wedding-party and family-group photos are those who are closest to you, and are most likely to be snapping shots of your wedding themselves.  When they assemble for photos, please ask them to respect the photographers' workspace throughout the event.  Especially in important photos such as cutting the cake, first dance, etc., ask them to BE AWARE of where the photographers are positioned, and to not step into OUR shots in order to get their own.  Obviously we wouldn't mention this if it wasn't a relatively common occurrence. If you are uncomfortable making such an announcement, please let us know and we will be happy to politely make this request.
